406W Games exists to make student-created games publicly available at no profit and to make resources for using game creation or games in classrooms more widely available.

Our Mission

Why are we called 406W?

This project began by turning a course, History 406W (Research in Medieval Sources), into a seminar structured around the students producing a game from their research and discussions. Our name honors that beginning. Our logo is set on a medieval T-in-O map of the world as a reference to our focus on games based on medieval Europe, Africa and Asia.
